Pratima Security Services - Training Process

Security today has become an indispensable part of today's age. The sector has quite booming in recent times and the majority of the sectors ranging from retail to hospitality and many others need compliance for security. Thus, a security guard is an armed/unarmed individual who ensures the protection of assets ranging from human lives to physical property from criminal activities. Since they are employed to make sure of safety, they are given rigorous training so that they can best cater to their responsibilities. Our company strictly follows the general requirement procedures (based on international standards) and strict interviewing procedures to recruit one of the best and most efficient personnel in the industry. The standard of recruitment is as follows: –

  • Age: The candidate must be at least 21 years of age and the maximum be 40 years.
  • Height: We select only those candidates who are a minimum of 5'7" or above.
  • Eyesight: The eyesight should be 6 X 6.
  • Physique: The candidate must be in excellent physical shape.
  • Education: Candidate must possess a minimum matriculating certificate. Also, the applicant should have the ability to read, write, and speak English and the language(s) most appropriate to his or her assigned duties.
  • Criminal History: We duly check the candidate's background for if the person has a clean record and is free from any job-related crime. Any felony conviction discovered in the course of searching should also be considered relevant to the candidate's qualifications for the position.

This, a candidate has to fully comply with the set strict parameters. Once, they get through this, they are qualified for induction. After induction, each security guard has to undergo rigorous training which can be categorized into 'basic' and 'on-the-job'. These courses prepare them for top performance in their position and provide a wide and wise vision of an area, much better than that of citizens and average security guards.

In the basic training, the security guards are made familiar with their service conditions, uniforms, and equipment. This is followed by a brief introduction about the code of conduct to be followed by each security guard. Other aspects of basic training include –

Whereas in the on-the-job training, there is a session of about 30-40 minutes a week to make the guard aware of ON-JOB TRAINING at the respective site. It can also be classified under the basic and specific on-the-job training procedure. In the basic on-the-job training, the following topics will be included –

Once the basic training is finished, the security guards undergo specific on-the-job training which includes the following –

Both basic and on-the-job training given by our company is one of the best in the industry as it is according to the international standards. Apart from these two basic and on-the-job training, the supervisory staff and guards are subject to an appropriate assessment and evaluation to measure the security officer. For this, they have to complete refresher training for 2 days within six months. In refresher training, all the aspects of duties are revised to ensure that their professional level is maintained at the required level.

The daily documentation by the security guard includes the following things: –

  • Daily muster roll
  • Daily occurrence book

For a proper check on the security guards, field officers/supervisors visit the site twice a day, the manager inspects once every alternate day and senior staff does inspection weekly. Surprise checks are also done and strict action is taken against any inappropriate behavior. We also use some other methods for screening and training which are confidential.
